What are Meatballs?

There are many different types of meatballs, but many recipes tend to include ground beef, finely chopped egg, breadcrumbs, and other ingredients. The ideal shape for a meatball is usually a sphere, but you can also make balls in the form of other shapes. Different meatball recipes can vary in size and texture, so you’ll want to make sure that your meatball fits the ingredients and tastes you’re trying to create.

How To Make Homemade Meatballs

I love to make meatballs for any occasion, but I often find myself making them in large quantities. I was recently trying to figure out a way to make meatballs without using the oven and I came across a great stovetop meatball recipe that you can try yourself at home. The steps for this meatball recipe are simple, and the outcome is delicious. First, heat up 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large, non-stick pan. Then, sprinkle in ¼ cup of the breadcrumbs and 2 tablespoons of Italian seasoning. Stir to mix the ingredients together. Next, add ½ cup of Italian sausage and ¼ cup of flour. Stir to combine, then add ½ cup of chicken broth and the milk. Stir again to combine the ingredients. The next step is to grab a handful of the meat mixture and roll it into a ball. Place the balls in the pan and cook them for 5 minutes or until they are golden brown. Then, remove them from the pan and place them on a plate. Once they are cooled, you can wrap them up and save them for later.

How to make and bake with a meatball

My husband (Bob) works at a local factory that makes potstickers. He told me that if we’re lucky enough to get some, I should try making meatballs. I’m not the best cook, but I do have some cooking skills. I knew that I wanted to use my new mandolin for this recipe. It’s a perfect size for a meatball. And, it makes the prepping and slicing so much easier than the food processor. I wanted to make a sauce to go with them, so I decided to use the flavors that my husband likes. Tomato basil sauce is one of my favorites, and I found that this was also Bob’s favorite. I also like the flavor of tomatoes and basil, so I combined the two flavors in this sauce. I’m not sure if this was Bob’s favorite sauce, but he didn’t mention it. I hope you enjoy this recipe.

Ingredients

For the ingredients in the meatballs, you’ll need about 1 lb. ground beef, 1 lb. ground pork, and 2 eggs. Also, you’ll need 3 lbs. ground beef sausage and 2 lbs. ground pork sausage. In the last step, you’ll need about 2 cups bread crumbs, 1/4 cup parsley, 1/4 cup of onion, 1 tbsp. minced garlic, 1/4 cup oregano, 1/2 cup parsley, 1 cup of milk, and 1 tsp. thyme.
