Kale chips are one of my favorite snacks. Kale chips are delicious, they’re low in calories, and they’re relatively easy to make. They’re also extremely nutritious. In this article, I’ll show you how to make kale chips in an air fryer.
How to prep Kale
Kale chips can easily be made at home using an air fryer. Kale is extremely versatile, and it can be eaten raw, added to salad or used in soups or sandwiches. A basic kale chip recipe can be found on your local health food store’s website. They usually call for a tablespoon of olive oil, a tablespoon of salt, a teaspoon of black pepper and a cup of chopped kale. Then, the kale needs to be mixed thoroughly. It’s important to mix the kale properly, or the oil can separate from the chips. Next, the chips need to be placed in an air fryer, and that’s all there is to it. Making Kale Chips in an Air Fryer With the air fryer, you’ll first want to cut your kale into chiffonade. Then, you’ll take the kale and drop it into a bowl of water. After a few minutes, you’ll drain the water. When your kale has been dry for about 30 minutes, you’ll lay out the kale, drizzle the olive oil on top, and sprinkle the sea salt. Next, you’ll place the kale on a baking sheet and pop it in the air fryer. The recipe will tell you how long you should cook the kale for. Usually, I cook the kale for about 5 minutes, but I can vary this as I please. When the kale is cooked to my liking, I’ll remove it from the air fryer and put it in a bowl to cool. Microwaving will destroy the nutrients in the kale, but cooking it at high temperatures will also destroy its nutrition. Cooking kale with a hot oven or stove also means that the health benefits are lost. But, the best way to cook kale is to use an air fryer. Air fryers use hot air to fry food instead of oil.
