How to Make Homemade Churros

I make this recipe every year during my three weeks in Colombia. They are hands down some of the best churros I have ever eaten! This recipe is very simple and quick to make. This recipe will give you many churros in one pot, and it’s so much cheaper than eating at the restaurant! Plus, you can make them at home, which is perfect for a quick snack when you need it. Ingredients: 4 eggs
½ cup milk
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
4 cups cooking oil
Mix the eggs, milk, flour, cinnamon and salt together in a bowl. You want to mix them well, to make sure that they blend well together. You can also use your hands to combine them. The more you mix it, the fluffier the churros will be.
Heat the oil in a deep fryer, wok, deep frying pan, or a deep fryer on the stove. You want the oil to be hot enough that you can fry a penny and it will turn red! The more you cook them, the crunchier they will be.
I have found that the best method to cook them is to drop a spoonful of the mixture into the oil and wait for it to cook for about 45 seconds. Do this until you have about 10 churros at a time.
You can see I am cooking my churros until they are done. They are pretty small

Churros at the Beach

They’re usually deep-fried, dipped in sugar and cinnamon. Churros are typically served with powdered sugar and a shot of milk, which helps the dough soak up the sugar. Churros are also a good snack to bring along to a beach, since they keep very well. And if you don’t want to eat all of them, you can freeze them and eat them later.

How to Cook Churros

I always say you never get a second chance to cook churros. If you screw this up, you don’t get a chance to make another batch. The first time I made churros was with my dad and we went to Mexico City. We were at a festive street festival and the churros were the best I’ve ever tasted. They were light, crispy, and had just the perfect amount of sugar to make them delicious. I couldn’t believe they were only one dollar. I spent a year thinking I could never make churros, but I finally gave it a shot. I was excited and nervous. I looked through a bunch of recipes online, but I didn’t want to complicate things. I wanted my churros to taste just like they do in Mexico City, so I followed a simple recipe. They turned out perfect. Here’s what I did:
