Grape Jelly Facts

Grape jelly is made by cooking grapes until soft and then purifying the juice. The juice is strained and cooked until a thick consistency is achieved. The grapes are then strained again to remove excess water. This is known as cooking down and is typically done over several hours. The juice is then pressed and put into a jelly bag to remove any remaining solids. This juice is then brought back to a boil and is made into jelly. Grape jelly is a popular jelly that is made in a similar way to apple jelly. Grape jelly also contains some of the same health benefits as apple jelly.
