How to Grill a Lamb Rack Popularity worldwide, the popularity of lamb racks, as well as how to cook lamb, has grown over the past few years. According to the National Chicken Council, as of 2016, 33% of Americans prefer lamb over chicken, and the chicken industry is poised to keep that figure growing. Tasty cooking and health benefits are among the reasons people continue to use lamb. Traditional lamb racks are tender and delicious. Lamb is lower in fat and cholesterol than most other meats. Lamb can also be prepared by grilling and broiling.
How to Cut up a Lamb Rack
At the farmers market, I used the term “lamb rack” because at the time I didn’t know how to correctly describe what it was.

[Text]: If you don’t have a lamb rack, they’re usually available from your local butcher. I usually buy one rack at a time, because they freeze well and can be used for a number of different applications.
How to Cook a Lamb

Lamb is also a healthier meat because it is low in saturated fat, which is one of the risk factors of heart disease. Lamb is often seasoned with rosemary, which adds flavor to the meat and acts as a natural antibiotic. Lamb is best cooked on a hot grill, which also adds flavor to the meat and prevents it from drying out. Lamb is also traditionally cooked in the oven or slow cooker, but these methods are less flavorful.

One of the best is to cook it on a lamb rack. This is a smaller cut of meat that is usually found under the rib cage. This is an excellent cut to grill as it is tender and flavorful. You’ll need to make sure you select a lamb rack that is free of fat. And you should be able to find them at a good butcher. Lamb racks typically weigh around 4 to 8 lbs. They should be good quality, otherwise they will dry out as you grill. You’ll also need to make sure you’re using a grill with a grilling surface of at least 13.2 inches x 13.2 inches. However, a bigger grill surface will work too. You’ll need to preheat the grill for 15 to 20 minutes, and then grill for 15 to 20 minutes more. Then you can finish off by allowing it to rest for at least 5 minutes. Lamb racks are a great alternative to the more common lamb loin.
