Why should you bother to bother with deskinning salmon? Well, apart from how much fun it is to eat salmon skin, it can be used for lots of different purposes. You can make stunning beads and necklaces, you can use it in place of coconut oil, or as a natural soap. It’s a great material to add into a diet as it is both high in vitamin C and nutrients. You can also make gorgeous brooms, rakes and brushes.
How to Cut Up a Salmon
In order to eat a salmon, you will have to prepare it for cooking. In order to do this, you will need to cut up the salmon. First, cut it in half. Using a small knife, score the skin on the side of the fish. Using the small knife, start to open the skin. Starting at the top, begin to peel away the skin. Continue to peel off the skin from top to bottom. When you reach the bottom, make a diagonal cut from the bottom of the fillet to the top, just to the side of the fish. Open the skin a little more and push in your knife. Remove any skin that you can see and make a hole for your knife.
How to Cook Salmon
There are many ways to cook salmon. It is an inexpensive fish and easily available. You can either buy it fresh or frozen and thaw it. It will keep for about a week if it’s fresh, or about a month if it’s frozen. Most salmon in grocery stores has been frozen and thawed. Look for a salmon that is opaque and has a nice, red hue. If it looks translucent, it’s likely going to taste a little off. Don’t worry about removing the skin – it will cook off. Salmon is best when served with salad or spinach.
