If you are a cake lover then you should learn how to decorate fondant cake. Because the cake is very soft, and has a brittle consistency, you can decorate the cake with fondant or modeling paste for it to look a little more realistic and more unique. In this video, I will show you a step by step process for decorating fondant cake. I’ll show you how to apply a design to the fondant cake using fondant, modeling paste, and royal icing.
Decorate Your Cake with Washi Tape
Traditional fondant cakes are typically very plain and often very boring. There are many ways to make your fondant cake more unique and fun. One easy way is to decorate it with colorful washi tape. Washi tape is also known as Japanese paper tape, and you can find it at your local art store, dollar store, or even the Dollar Tree. Fondant is a flexible icing that can be used to cover most cakes. There are many fondant fondant recipes online, but you can also simply purchase fondant from your local grocery store. You can also use cake decorating tools to create a lot of decorative fondant designs. Another fun way to decorate your cake is to use frosting. You can simply make a fondant frosting by adding confectioner’s sugar to fondant.
What Tools You Need
For a fondant cake you will need a fondant, a rolling pin, a bench scraper, a pastry bag, a pastry tip, chocolate coating and Royal icing. First you need to roll the fondant. This is an art form that requires practice. There are different tools that are used to roll the fondant, such as the pastry bag and pastry tip, however, the tool you choose is up to your own preference. The first step is to take the fondant and roll it around the pastry tip until it is very tight and has no air bubbles. Then you fold it in on itself a few times and roll it out again. It will look like this: Next, you want to take a bench scraper and put some pressure on the fondant and make sure it sticks to the bench scraper. Continue to fold the fondant in on itself until it is long and thin.

setting
Fondant cake decorations are a beautiful way to make your cake stand out. The best time to set your fondant is after the cake is cooled. If the cake is already cooled, the melted fondant might crack or peel off. If you set your fondant while the cake is still hot, it will absorb moisture from the cake. The moisture in the cake will actually make the fondant harden. To ensure your fondant decoration does not stick to the cake, set it on a small plate or container and set the plate on top of the cake.
