What to do with your wiener?

Some say that wiener is a German word for “wurst”, but the word doesn’t really have any historical precedent. The word originated in England, as a derogatory reference to German sausage. The word’s current meaning, however, is pretty well established. In the United States, the common way of cooking a wiener is to first freeze it. Then, it’s sautéed on a hot pan. Some also sauté it with onions. Others, however, grill it, using the broiler to get the perfect crispiness. Finally, some people like to smoke it for the perfect flavor.

What is a wiener?

A wiener is a type of sausage, commonly found on American fast food menus. They are normally made from pork, and sometimes beef, with additional ingredients such as onion and garlic. These are typically served hot, in a bun. While Americans tend to associate wiener with hot dogs, the term is more general. It can also refer to any type of sausage, and sometimes even to other types of processed meat. Other types of sausages include bratwurst, hot dog, frankfurter, and polony.
