Healthy living is getting more popular. People are looking for more ways to get fit and stay healthy. But healthy living isn’t all about the gym. You can actually eat healthy food and live a healthy lifestyle. So, how do you cook food that’s healthy and delicious? This article will teach you how to cook healthy meals.
Is Salmon Good For You?
This question is more common than you think. People are actually concerned about how salmon is made. There have been several documentaries made about the ethics of where salmon comes from, and what it actually looks like. Many people wonder how the salmon is caught in the wild, or if it causes harm to the ocean. These are some good questions to ask. However, many people don’t realize that you can actually cook salmon in your oven. This is an easy way to prepare a healthy meal.
How To Make Salmon in the Oven
Salmon is a great source of lean protein and can be cooked in the oven for a healthy and tasty dish. While this method is quick and easy, it requires a bit of preparation. Place the salmon on a baking tray and fill with crushed or halved garlic cloves, pepper, lemon juice, soy sauce, salt and other spices. Cover with tin foil and bake for 10 minutes at 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove the tin foil and continue to bake until the fish is cooked through, about another 10 to 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 5 minutes. Serve with your favorite side dishes.
Cooking Salmon in the Oven
Cooking salmon in the oven isn’t as hard as it might sound. I’ve prepared salmon in the oven many times and never had a problem with it. I tend to season my fish by brushing it with some olive oil and sprinkling it with salt, pepper, and maybe a little dill or lemon. Then, I put it on a baking sheet and put it in the oven. The baking sheet is important, as it will help to spread the heat around the fish and avoid burning it. I tend to cook salmon for 7-9 minutes at 400 degrees. You may need to increase or decrease the time depending on the thickness of your fish. A salmon fillet tends to cook pretty quickly. If you want to go on to a second side, the baking sheet is an important step to get out the direct heat and protect the fish from getting too much of a color or even drying out.
What You Need
I use a big, nonstick ovenproof skillet and double up on my salmon so it’s got a nice, even coating. A simple olive oil and lemon grilling rub is all you’ll need, but salt and pepper will enhance the flavor.
Cooking Time For Salmon
The preparation time for cooking salmon in the oven is about 10 minutes. The cooking time is about 30 to 45 minutes.
