From cooking delicate desserts to grilling and baking the perfect steak, the type of pan you use will have a big impact on the end result. When cooking salmon, the fish’s skin is particularly delicate and should be left on, to ensure that it is fully cooked. Additionally, if the pan is a non-stick one, it will make it much easier to remove the fish after it is cooked, and in many cases, one can just pull the fish off the bottom of the pan.
Let it cook for 4 minutes
The first thing you need to do is place the salmon skin side down in the pan. The skin will help the fish cook evenly, so it is best to leave the skin on. Cook on medium-high heat for about 3 minutes, so that the skin starts to get crispy. Now take the fish off the heat. Once you take the fish off the heat, cover it with aluminum foil and let it rest for 2 minutes. Remove the foil and remove the bones from the salmon. Next, cut the salmon into strips.
Start with the right amount of salmon
To cook salmon in a pan with skin, start with the right amount of salmon. This will ensure that the meat is cooked thoroughly and will have a nice, flaky texture.
Place the salmon in the pan
Open the salmon skin and make sure the flesh of the salmon is even. This will ensure a firm cooking base.
Flip it over and cook on the other side
This is a perfect method for cooking salmon in a pan. First, make sure your salmon is as fresh as possible. Get it from a fish store. If you don’t want to go to the store, you can easily get it online. Cook the salmon until it’s done and place it in a bowl. We recommend using a cutting board to make sure the skin is still on the salmon. Then, heat up some oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the salmon to the skillet and flip it over. Cook it for another 10 minutes or so. If you’re not sure whether it’s done, use a digital thermometer to check the internal temperature. It should be about 135 degrees. Remember to turn off the heat and cover it when you’re done.
Cook over medium heat
The first step is to wash the salmon. Next, place the salmon in a large pan over medium-high heat. Cook the salmon for 4 minutes on each side or until the center of the fish is opaque. Remove the salmon from the pan and place on a baking sheet to cool. Once the salmon is cool enough to handle, remove the skin and bones, slice the fish and serve.
