How to Cook
Often it is known that eating meat increases your chances of getting cancer. However, eating red meat and processed meat increases your risk of cancer, whereas non-processed red meat like radishes may actually help protect against some types of cancer. There are several ways to cook radishes, but we found the easiest was in the air fryer. This was our favorite method, as the process of cooking the radishes is less stressful and lets you prepare them ahead of time. We used the green radishes, but you can use any radishes you like, even if they are a different color.
What Should I Serve With Radishes?
If you love radishes, you should serve them in a lot of ways.
How to Season Radishes
If you like radishes but dislike the overly-salty taste of cooked ones, then you should try air frying the radishes instead. Air frying is a quick and easy way to remove the unwanted water content, while adding a little salt to the radishes. Before you start, make sure you have a pair of tongs. Place radishes in a large bowl of water and let them soak for 10-15 minutes. While the radishes are soaking, prepare the marinade for the air fryer. Mix 1/3 cup of vegetable oil with 1/2 cup of kosher salt. Once the radishes are ready, drain them thoroughly and dry them. Using the tongs, pick up the radishes and drop them into the marinade. Let the radishes marinate for at least 10-15 minutes. Drain the radishes well again and gently pat them dry with paper towels. Pour the oil into the air fryer and set the temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the oil is at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, carefully place the radishes into the air fryer basket. You will want to have the basket as close to the bottom of the air fryer as possible, but keep it a few inches away. The goal is to cook the radishes so that they are half cooked. While the radishes are cooking, prepare the seasoning mixture. Combine 3/4 teaspoon of kosher salt, 1/4 teaspoon of paprika, and 1/4 teaspoon of black
How to Prepare
You may know how to prepare vegetables, but radishes can be a bit different. Radishes are actually a member of the cabbage family, so they have a similar taste. A radish is one of the first vegetables that you can grow in a kitchen garden. They grow quickly, and they are edible when young. To prepare a radish, just wash it and remove any blemishes. Then, rub the radish with your hands to remove any dirt or mold. While radishes are best in salads, you can also use them in stir-fries and sandwiches. They have a slightly spicy flavor, so they work well with tangy ingredients like vinegar, citrus, or even hot pepper sauce.
