Cooking in a slow cooker is an excellent way to cook a large meal for your family. You can cook a meal for a large group of people in a short amount of time with a large amount of food. Once cooked, the food can be placed in the refrigerator and left to cool until it can be stored in the freezer. Cooking in a slow cooker makes the cooking process very convenient. All you have to do is add the ingredients to the slow cooker, lock the door, and leave the food to cook.
Cooking tips
Before we begin, it’s important to mention that a slow cooker is ideal for cooking pork riblets. Slow cookers use convection to heat the food, instead of using heat from a burner. Convection is the process of transferring heat by conduction from hot to cold things. This makes the food cook more evenly, reducing the risk of overcooking. For this reason, convection is more effective at cooking food than a regular stovetop or oven. For this particular recipe, you will need: 8 pork riblets (about 6 oz or 170g) 1/2 cup bbq sauce 1 can condensed tomato soup 8 oz crushed tomatoes (about 1 1/2 cups) 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 cup water 1. Clean the slow cooker. Remove the inner pot and wash the bottom and sides with soap and hot water. Dry with a paper towel and use a metal scrub brush to remove excess residue. Make sure all parts of the cooker are clean and dry. 2. Place meat in the inner pot. Place the pork riblets on the bottom of the slow cooker, making sure they are in a single layer. Top with bbq sauce, then condensed tomato soup. Scatter crushed tomatoes on top. If using, add the optional amount of water. Top the riblets with salt, garlic powder and pepper. 3. Cover slow cooker.
