Ingredients:
– 6 oz warm water
– 1 cup flour
– 1 tbsp granulated sugar
– 1 tsp salt
– 3/4 cup butter (cold)
Equipment:
– a large bowl
– a spoon
– a bench scraper
– a mixing bowl
Steps:
– place a warm bowl in the oven or under a warm broiler to warm
– sieve the dry ingredients and combine
– add butter to the dry ingredients, cut in with a spatula or pastry cutter until the butter is cut in small pieces
– mix well by hand
– turn the dough out onto a bench
– pat it down so that it is roughly 3/4 inch thick
– cut the dough into biscuit shapes, or however you like to shape them
– place the biscuits on a baking sheet, bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes
