What are tamales?

Tamales are a common Mexican food, made of corn tortillas filled with meat, cheese, and vegetables. They are usually stuffed and wrapped in banana leaves. There are three traditional versions: dry, semi-dry, and fresh. The dry version is prepared by cooking the ingredients in oil. The semi-dry version is prepared by cooking the ingredients in lard. How to serve frozen tamales

1. Cut each burrito lengthwise, cutting the lengthwise crease. If you’re using cheese, spread it out on the burrito before folding.

3. Place your burrito in a tortilla press, if you have one, or roll it around your hand to form a shape.
4. Wrap the burrito tightly around your hand so the meat isn’t visible.
5. Cut a slit in the burrito near the end of the meat and then spread the filling out to show the burrito meat.
6. Gently squeeze the burrito to spread the meat into an even layer.
7. Fold the bottom and top end of the burrito over and then wrap the ends over the middle.
8. Gently squeeze the burrito to make it look smooth.
9. Make 3 cuts in the burrito to form 4 fingers.
10. Sprinkle a little cinnamon on top and serve.

How To Make A Homemade Tamale

To make a tamale, you’ll need a corn husk or corn husk wrapping. Place the corn husks flat in a large bowl, and leave about 2 inches at the top of the husks. Then, place a tamale on top of the husks. Next, mix 4 cups of masa (about a cup of masa for each tamale you make), and 1 to 2 teaspoons of hot sauce, depending on how spicy you want the tamale to be. Spread the masa over the top of the tamale. Finally, you’ll need to fold up the husks over the tamale. You can use your hands or a kitchen utensil to fold the husks over the tamale. If you’re using a kitchen utensil, make sure you fold the husks in the same direction. Use more hot sauce if you’re making a spicy tamale. Then, you can store the tamales in an airtight container for up to five days. When you’re ready to eat the tamales, place them in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes or until the husks are brown. Then, remove the tamales from the oven, and place on a plate.
