People often don’t think twice when they see a package of frozen crab legs on the store shelf, but in reality, there are a couple of things to consider before you go ahead and start cooking them. In this video, I’ll show you how to cook frozen crab legs without a steamer and what you can do to make sure your kitchen stays clean while doing so.
How To Cook Frozen Crab Legs Without A Steamer
This is not as hard as it looks. To make this recipe, you’ll need a colander, a large pot, a non-stick cooking spray, and frozen crab legs. You can also use frozen crab legs to make crab cakes.
1. Fill a large pot with cold water.
2. Place the colander in the large pot.
3. Spray the colander with non-stick cooking spray.
4. Add the crab legs to the colander.
5. Cook the crab legs in the large pot for 20 minutes.
6. Remove the colander and drain the water.
When to Cook Frozen Crab Legs
Deep frying can be a great way to cook frozen crab legs, but it requires a lot of fat and oil, which can be unhealthy. A better method is to boil frozen crab legs in a pot of water until the meat is soft. Then you can remove the meat and discard the shells, before chopping the meat and mixing it with lemon and other spices. When cooking crab legs, be sure to take the shells off and discard them before boiling the meat. Otherwise the shells can end up releasing a chemical that makes the crab legs taste bad.
