Ingredients for Adobo Pork
Adobo is a delicious Filipino marinade. It can be used on all kinds of meat, but it is mostly used on pork. The marinade is made with vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and brown sugar. Add sautéed peppers, tomatoes, or green onions to flavor the pork. Then, marinate the meat in this mixture for at least 6 to 12 hours. The flavors of the marinade will permeate the meat, which will make it taste delicious. This is the most common recipe. Other versions of adobo are similar, but each will have its own unique flavor.

Don’t use just any kind of soy sauce, but use the Filipino style sauce. You can find this in most Asian supermarkets, or look for a Filipino-style sauce at a Filipino grocery store. Or, just make your own! In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, and vinegar. Whisk the mixture until it’s smooth. Pat the pork dry with paper towels and then coat it with the soy sauce mixture. Pat the pork again with paper towels. Let the pork sit for about 15 minutes. This allows the soy sauce to absorb into the pork. Then, pat it dry and cook it in a slow cooker. Alternatively, you can also cook the pork on the stovetop. Put the pork in a large skillet and turn the heat to medium-high. Cook the pork for about 10-15 minutes, until it’s browned. You want
