I never thought I would write an article about how to cook a pork roast on the grill. But, once I started writing this article, I realized that I know a lot about cooking pork! I grew up in the country, so I have a lot of experience with grilling because I’m a farm kid. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy cooking pork—it’s something we have always done on the farm.

Grilling times and temperatures

This dish requires long, slow cooking. So you need to give it plenty of time. Cooking time will depend on the size of the roast, but here are some guidelines: For a 4-pound pork roast, cook for 2 hours at 225° F. For a 5-pound pork roast, cook for 2 hours at 225° F. For a 6-pound roast, cook for 2 hours at 225° F. For a 7-pound roast, cook for 2 hours at 225° F. For a 8-pound roast, cook for 2 hours at 225° F.

Best way to flip a pork roast

Typically, pork roasts are cooked in the oven on the rack. This is fine, but if you want to grill it outside, you may want to find a way to flip it without having to cut it open. The easiest way is to place it on the grill, and turn the top half over and set it on a grill rack. However, if the roast isn’t turning out right, don’t be too upset. You can also use a pan to flip it. You may want to place the roast in a pan, then flip the pan to flip the roast.

How to tell when a pork roast is done

First, take the loin out of the oven and cover it with foil. Next, preheat the grill. If you have a gas grill, turn the burner on high. If you have a charcoal grill, place a large grate over a medium-sized fire. Use a meat thermometer to check the temperature. Pork needs to reach an internal temperature of 140°F. When the roast is done, remove it from the grill and let it sit for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, put a large, oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Pour in a tablespoon of oil. When the oil is hot, add the chops and brown them, 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove the chops and set them aside. Pour the oil and any juices in the pan into a container. Put the pork back in the oven for 20 minutes. Take the roast out of the oven and rest it for 10 minutes. Take the chops out of the oven and arrange them on a platter. Slice the roast and serve with the sauce. [End]

Preparing the roast

To prepare your pork roast, simply score the meat with a sharp knife, about 1/8 of an inch deep. This will help the meat cook evenly. Once the roast is scored, rub it with 1 tbsp. of salt and 1 tbsp. of pepper. Once you’ve rubbed it, cook it on a grill for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove the roast from the grill when the internal temperature reaches 150 degrees Fahrenheit. In the meantime, to make the barbecue sauce, simply mix 3/4 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce with 1/4 cup of your favorite ketchup. Once it’s mixed well, set the sauce aside. You can eat the roast now, or you can store it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to eat.

Marinating the meat

While you can cook pork roast on the grill just like you would any other meat, marinating makes the difference between a tasty, moist, cooked pork roast and a dry, tasteless mess. You can marinate pork with a variety of different seasonings and rubs, such as garlic, onion, and thyme. You can also marinate with different types of acid, like apple cider vinegar, orange juice, or wine, which are all natural. You can even marinate pork with spices like coriander, curry, and cumin. Finally, the type of grill you use matters. If you cook pork roast on a gas grill, you can use any type of spice or acid marinade. If you cook pork roast on an electric grill, you’ll want to use seasonings that are safe for grills. The same goes for both wood and charcoal grills.
