The Third Time Is A Charm

In general, cooking a steak shouldn’t be a challenge. But if it’s your first time cooking a steak, there are a few things you should know about cooking a steak. For starters, you want to put the steak on a rack, not directly on a wire. This will keep the steak from sticking to the bottom of the pan, which is not desirable. In general, when cooking a steak, a medium-rare is what you want to go for. This is a safe middle ground between the well-done and rare steak. But, if you prefer a more well-done steak, you can do that too. To get your steak medium-rare, make sure to cook it for 4 minutes per side, or 4:00. If you prefer your steak well-done, cook it for 6 minutes per side, or 6:00.

How To Cook A New York Strip Steak

Cooking a new york strip steak is actually quite simple. All you need is a cast iron skillet, and some ingredients. Start by preheating the skillet over medium-high heat. Next, pat the steak dry with paper towels. Remove the steaks from the package and season both sides with salt and pepper. Cook the steaks for 5-6 minutes on each side for medium rare, 8-10 minutes for medium, and 12-15 minutes for well done. The cooking time will be slightly different for every steak. For a medium rare steak, the meat should be pale pink, and almost cooked all the way through. For a medium steak, it should be cooked through but still pink. A well done steak should be a deep mahogany color. To make sure the steaks are cooked thoroughly, you can use an instant read thermometer. Transfer the steaks to a plate and cover with foil. Let them rest for about 10 minutes before serving. For a hot and crispy sear, place the steak back in the skillet and cook over medium-high heat for 1 minute per side. Remove from the heat, add your favorite steak sauce, and serve.

How To Prep The Steak

One of the ways I make cooking the steak easier is to cook it ahead of time. I like to marinate my steaks in a balsamic vinaigrette and let them sit for at least 1-2 hours, but ideally overnight. You can also cook a steak ahead of time. The only thing I cook ahead of time is the steaks. I let them sit in the fridge for at least a day so they have time to marinate. When you’re ready to cook the steak, it’s just a matter of getting it on the grill and grilling it for about 3 minutes on each side. It can be a good idea to pat down the steak a little before cooking because it helps the juices to flow. There are so many different cuts of steak, and you can choose what you like. For me, the New York strip is one of my favorite cuts.
