A crock pot is a great kitchen appliance for cooking food on a large scale. This handy device can cook several meals at once, saving you time and money. A crock pot is ideal for preparing stews and soups, as well as roasts and fajitas. This article will show you how to cook a chicken in a crock pot.
Add water and cook
We’ve made this before, but it’s a great dish to make in the crock pot. It takes an hour or less to cook. When you get home from work, just add chicken pieces to the crock pot, pour in some cooking liquid, cover and set your crock pot to cook for 8-12 hours. It’s great for a quick weeknight dinner!
Prep the chicken
This is a recipe for crockpot chicken. It can be used for any chicken, and is just as easy to make as any other meal. To cook this meal, first you’ll need to get a nice, cut up chicken breast, and some extra seasonings. In this recipe, we used Italian herbs, cayenne pepper, and Old Bay seasoning. Then place the chicken in the crockpot and pour in enough water to cover the chicken. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Cook on high for 4-6 hours, or low for about 8-10 hours.
Potatoes and other vegetables
Potatoes are one of the most versatile vegetables. They can be eaten alone, as a side dish, as a base for a stew, or made into fries. This means they can be used to make a variety of meals. They are also a good source of fiber, which can help keep your digestive system healthy. This recipe uses potatoes, onions, celery and carrots to make chicken soup.
Cook the chicken
If you’ve ever bought a chicken, you know it’s a lot more work to cook than it is to just throw it in the oven. The process of roasting a whole chicken takes anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 hours. However, you don’t have to do this yourself. You can actually cook a chicken in the crock pot. First, grab your chicken and start washing it. You’ll need to remove the gizzards and the neck. Then, set the chicken aside. Next, prepare the spices. You’ll need to have the spices cut up, because that’s how you’ll be mixing them with the chicken. Pour the spices into the bottom of the crock pot and then place the chicken on top. Then, pour about half the olive oil on top of the chicken. Next, cover the pot with a lid and set it on low for 4 to 6 hours. Then, you’ll need to remove the lid and flip the chicken over. Now, you’ll want to use a spoon to mix up the oil. At this point, you’ll want to put the chicken back on the lid and continue cooking for another 4 to 6 hours. You’ll finish cooking the chicken by mixing up the oil again and cooking the chicken for another hour. Now, if you want, you can use the remaining olive oil to cook vegetables in the crock pot
How to make a delicious meal
Now, let’s say you want to make this delicious dish that’s perfect for those cold winter nights. First, we’ll need some ingredients, such as a chicken, some onion, some potatoes, and some corn. We’ll also need some tomatoes. We’ll begin by first rinsing the chicken of any dirt. This is done by placing it in some cold water and swishing it around for a few minutes. While the chicken is in the water, we’ll want to cut the onions and then separate them into layers. The onions will keep the chicken from burning while it cooks. After the chicken has been cleaned, we’ll add it to the bottom of the pot with the rest of the ingredients. Once the chicken and the rest of the ingredients have been added to the pot, we’ll set the crock pot on the stove. You’ll want to place a cover on the pot to keep the chicken and everything inside it from drying out. Then, we’ll turn the crock pot on low. It should stay on low for approximately 4 to 6 hours. Then, we’ll turn it off and let the chicken sit and cook overnight. In the morning, we’ll remove the chicken from the pot, slice it up, and serve it.
