Although there are a lot of fish recipes out there, I didn’t see any specifically for baked fish. I love to bake salmon so thought I’d try this one out. I decided to try it because I wanted to try out the app Xnachef and they recommend making it at high temperatures and making sure it’s not too dry.
Can you freeze your salmon?
In order to freeze your salmon, you will need to remove any skin, bones and other contaminants. Place your salmon skin side down in a freezer bag. Add a little olive oil, then seal the bag. Put the bag into a larger freezer bag and label it. Put the bag in the freezer for 24 hours. Put the salmon, skin side up, on a paper towel in the microwave and heat it for a few seconds at a time. This will help remove any blood and impurities from the meat. Carefully pull out your salmon, place it in a freezer container and freeze it. After you have frozen your salmon, you can thaw it by removing it from the freezer. Allow it to sit at room temperature until it’s thawed. You can add seasoning to your salmon, just be sure to wash it before you eat it.
How long can you keep the frozen salmon?
Frozen salmon can last up to one year. However, the overall quality of the salmon will diminish over time. If you do want to keep it longer, you can re-freeze it. According to Cook’s Illustrated, freezing frozen salmon can be done up to two months. Make sure to wrap the salmon tightly in plastic wrap. This will make sure it doesn’t dry out. After the fish has been frozen, make sure to wrap it tightly in plastic wrap.

We recommend letting frozen salmon thaw overnight. The ideal temperature is 350 degrees. Once it’s thawed, cut it into serving-sized pieces. It can be served with anything, but we like it with potatoes. To make a crust, spread softened butter on the pan. We recommend brushing on some olive oil as well. Place salmon on the pan and cook for 6-8 minutes on each side, or until it’s browned. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving. These videos will teach you how to bake frozen salmon.

However, if you try to cook them frozen, you will find that they thaw much quicker and you have to cook them more quickly. This may reduce the nutrients you get from the food. So, if you freeze your salmon, it may be best to thaw it slowly in the refrigerator, and not attempt to defrost it in the microwave. If you do thaw it in the microwave, you should put it in the microwave for no longer than 10 minutes, and remove it from the microwave to let it rest for a few minutes.
