The machine will automatically heat and steam the rice for 20 to 25 minutes. If cooking on a stove top, bring water to a boil in a pot. Add rice and salt, and stir. Cover with a lid, and cook over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes longer if using natural gas.
Stovetop Rice Cooker
A stovetop rice cooker is a small appliance that can be placed on a stovetop to cook rice. Rice cookers generally come in a package of either 1 or 2 cups. When using a rice cooker, you typically add water to a pan that has been placed on the stove. You place the rice cooker in the water, cover it with a lid, and cook it on a medium heat setting for about 15-20 minutes. After it’s cooked, you simply rinse the rice cooker under cold water and store it in an airtight container.
