All you need to steam rice is a microwave-safe bowl, 2 cups of water, and rice. First, drain all the rice of any excess water. Add the rice to the microwave-safe bowl, making sure not to pack it down. Cook the rice in 2-3 minutes. You can also cook it on high for 2 minutes. Don’t leave the rice on the microwave for too long as it may get hot and burn.
How to Make Brown Rice
Brown rice is a whole grain that provides many health benefits. It can be eaten on its own, in salads, or cooked. A serving is a half cup cooked with one and a half cups water. While you can make brown rice from scratch, it is much easier to buy it in a container. You can also make this in a slow cooker, which is convenient. You can also add other ingredients to make this more nutritious. You can add chopped nuts or vegetables, add whole milk or low-fat milk, add raisins, or add oil or butter.
What is a Serving?
In general, a serving is defined as one cup of cooked rice. This means the cooked rice should be 5-6 inches in diameter. It is cooked until the center is fluffy and has reached an internal temperature of 140 degrees Fahrenheit. In order for rice to be considered healthy, the serving size should be no more than 3 ounces. This is also known as 350 grams.
How Much Rice is a Serving?
A serving of rice is three cups. One cup is about 60 grams. So, if you have 60 grams of rice, you have two servings. This is considered a small size serving. If you have 120 grams, you have 4 servings. A large size serving is four cups. A medium size serving is 2 ½ cups. For a large size serving, you would need one of those big bowls that usually hold about 5 cups of rice.
What Can You Do With Brown Rice
Brown rice contains the most amount of carbohydrates, and is a good source of dietary fiber. It’s low in sodium, and high in magnesium and potassium. It’s also a great source of complex carbohydrates. This is what makes brown rice a great alternative to white rice.
