On average, the company pays $9 an hour to the teens and gets them to work 15 to 16 hours a week. Considering the average hourly wage is about $17 an hour, the job is quite a lucrative one. Unfortunately, the earnings don’t stop when the teen has completed their work in the restaurant. They will continue to be paid for the hours they work as long as they remain employed at the company.

There have been concerns about how chicken is raised. It is often described as the “inhumane” treatment of birds. According to a report by ABC News, the National Chicken Council, a poultry industry group, has accused “animal rights activists” of manufacturing “false information about the conditions of U.S. chicken factories.” The group says that they work with “ethical farmers” and treats chickens humanely. The report says that chickens are housed in “factory-like settings” where they are given food, water and clean bedding. But animal advocates are unconvinced by the animal rights groups’ claim. In fact, a recent undercover investigation by Mercy For Animals, a group that fights cruelty to animals, revealed that the chickens are instead kept in crowded cages and regularly suffer from starvation and live in unsanitary conditions.
