Walmart Inc. employees will begin receiving pay increases in January 2016, once the $0.55 per hour increase is fully phased in. Walmart Inc. will also contribute $1.5 million to local community organizations to promote the welfare of their communities.

That’s some pretty impressive growth.

For comparison, at Walmart’s closest competitor, Amazon, the cost per day is $41.63.
