Unfortunately, eggs aren’t the best source of protein, and the eggs usually include a lot of fat. However, eggs are also an excellent source of cholesterol and protein. According to the World Health Organization, one egg contains about 70 calories and 5 grams of protein.

The only ingredients you may not be familiar with are the yolk and egg whites. These are two of the more nutritious parts of the egg. Here’s what you need to know. The yolk contains 6.5 calories and 93 milligrams of cholesterol. The egg whites contain 8 calories and 17 milligrams of cholesterol. Both contain 6 grams of protein, which is about 2.5 grams more than the protein found in a cup of chicken.

In fact, the Center for Science in the Public Interest notes that eggs have a high nutritional content with only a few calories per ounce.
