Calories Per Serving
There are different ways of calculating the calories in a food. The most accurate is to calculate the total calories, as well as the number of calories per serving. For example, 4 ounces of chicken has about 150 calories, so if you eat it with a meal, you’ll have 150 calories, plus the calories in the meal.
Serving Size
An ounce of cooked chicken contains 46 calories, making it an ideal meal for breakfast. You could substitute some of the eggs with a half an ounce of bacon, which would increase your calorie count by 70 calories.
Chicken
There are several types of chicken. The main types are broilers and free-range chickens. Broilers are grown to be large and have a high fat content. The high fat content makes them an excellent source of calories. Free-range chickens are a bit smaller and not as fat. They usually have less cholesterol than broilers and are therefore considered a healthier choice. There are also organic and free-range chicken. Both have higher nutritional content, but there are some differences between them. Organic chicken is typically raised without antibiotics and is also free from chemicals. Free-range chickens are not allowed to have access to much and are usually raised in a cage-free system.

Calorie is roughly equivalent to 1 J/g. It is the average energy content of 1 kg of food. 1 kcal = 4.184 kJ, or 4184 joules.
