This is a very low cooking temperature, which means the ingredients are cooked slowly and evenly. You can also cook chili on high heat, such as 400 degrees Fahrenheit. High heat means higher temperatures, therefore, there is more heat and therefore more energy used to bring the food to this temperature. Low heat is when the ingredient is being cooked faster and less efficiently. If you want a hotter chili taste, try cooking it for fewer hours, making it last longer.
Does chili taste better the longer you simmer it?
