Setting your Oven

How Long to Cook Pork Chops in Oven

The key here is to cook them slowly, and not to overcrowd the pan. This can cause uneven cooking, which can lead to dryness. If you’re cooking 2 or more chops, cook them in a single pan, instead of stacking them on top of each other. This prevents any steam from leaving the pan, and will ensure a more even cooking.

Pork Chops at Low Temperatures
If you want to make sure that your pork chops are cooked to a safe temperature, you can start by checking them immediately after they’re cooked. In general, pork chops should be cooked to 165 F (74 C), but it’s best to check them after they’ve cooked for about 15 minutes to be sure. Cooking them longer than 15 minutes can result in overcooked pork chops, which is a health hazard. Pork chops can be cooked on the stovetop, but you may need to rotate them periodically to get them evenly browned. Remember to put the chops on the rack, and not directly on the pan, so that they brown properly.
