How long does it take to cook frozen chicken breast?
When cooking meat straight off the bone, such as chicken, turkey, or beef, there are two main factors that determine how long you need to let the meat cook. First, whether the carcass is cooked through (meaning the internal temperature reaches 165° F.) or not. Second, how much fat is in contact with the surface of raw meat. If the fat melts away, which is often the case with uncooked meat, this will reduce the cooking time. However, if the skin is too thick, even if it has melted away completely, additional cooking times will be required. This is because the thicker the coating of fat, generally the longer the total cooking period. Therefore, when cooking poultry, always check the thickness of any skin before cooking. Once again, using a thermometer is a great way to check for doneness.
