They’re also great for helping to lower the risk of diabetes. They contain lots of fiber, which helps to reduce your risk of colon cancer. The yams are also a good source of iron, which can help keep your bones strong. They contain lots of antioxidants, which help to protect the body from damage caused by free radicals.
Cooking Time For a Pot of Sweet Potatoes
You want your sweet potatoes to be soft. It takes approximately 50 minutes to boil them, and for a couple of hours after they’re done, the potatoes should be sitting in a bowl of water to cool and recrisp. Sweet potatoes are often paired with other foods like marshmallows and marshmallow creme for a sweet and savory dessert. These are the steps you’ll need to follow in order to have delicious sweet potatoes:
1) Get out a large pot with a lid.
2) Fill the pot with enough water to cover the potatoes by at least an inch.
3) Put the pot on the stove and turn the heat to high.
4) While the water is heating up, peel the potatoes. Make sure to rinse them thoroughly.
5) Once the water is boiling, put the potatoes in the pot. Cover the pot with the lid.
6) Turn the heat to low.
7) Check the potatoes every 5 minutes or so. It will take about 50 minutes to boil the potatoes, and they should be done when they are soft.
8) While the potatoes are boiling, you can make the marshmallow creme. It’s a simple recipe:
1 tablespoon sugar
1/3 cup cold heavy cream
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

I like to make my own mashed sweet potatoes in my Instant Pot. I think that Instant Pot is a great invention. I especially like how well they do with vegetables. It can get pretty difficult to cut and chop a lot of vegetables if they are soft. I also think it’s really important to use a good cookbook for this kind of thing. So, I was just testing out this sweet potato recipe in my Instant Pot and I have to say I am impressed with how the results came out. I am also impressed by how much time I can spend in the kitchen without getting too tired. But you also have to take that into account too. It’s a lot of work and time to get all that done. But, as always, once you have it done, it is so worth it.
