Generally, we suggest you boil the frozen kernels longer (2–4 minutes) than the fresh kernels (1–2 minutes). We suggest using a microwave oven to cook frozen kernel faster. You can also use a pressure cooker to speed up the cooking process. Corn on both cob and kernels are cooked in about 3 minutes. When you’re ready to eat, simply cut off the cored kernels and serve. If you want a more intense flavor, add a little salt and pepper. Serve with butter, cream, or milk. This recipe is also delicious served with sliced almonds. Note that the kernels will become soft when you cut them. For a crunchy texture, slice the corn kernels before cooking.
How many minutes do you boil corn on the cob?

If you see any brown spots, you should stop boiling the grain. This is because the brown spot indicates that the grains are not fully roasting. To test whether the cooking is complete, poke the top of every kernel individually with your knife tip. When you feel the heat of steam coming out of each kernel, boil the whole batch again. After the second time, check the results. Corn that has not been cooked enough will be too soft and mushy.
Can you put frozen corn on the cob in boiling water?
You can boil fresh or frozen (or canned) corn right now and enjoy it hot or cold. You’ll get the best flavor out of it too. Why do you put milk in water when boiling corn?

Why is my corn hard after boiling?
One of many issues leading to boiled cooked corn being chewed is left in boiling water for too much time. First, you must remove the husks and silken threads before you cook the kernels. Then, wipe the inside of your pot with clean dish towels to remove any remaining moisture. Finally, rinse the pot thoroughly with cold water to get rid of any residual moisture and prevent the steam from escaping. If you are using a pressure cooker, make sure to turn off the heat when you finish cooking the kernel. Otherwise, there is a chance that the starch will stick to your hands and create a sticky mess. You can also use a spoon to scoop out the liquid from the bottom of a pot. However, this method is best for small batches of corn. For larger batches, use the same method as above.
Is corn supposed to float?
Although corn tend to drift ontop of water when cooking, this helps make the boiling water return to steam quicker and allows the kernels to cook faster. Corn ears are removed from water after about 3 – 4 minutes. If you want to remove them sooner, you might want add a little bit of salt to stop the ears floating onthe water too much. You can also add some sugar to keep the ear from floating around. After removing the grain, place the cooked ears in paper towels to absorb excess moisture. Let the grains cool completely before storing. They should stay fresh for up to 2 weeks. To store, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate. When ready to eat, remove from refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes. Serve warm or cold. I recommend serving hot.
Should frozen corn on the cob be thawed before cooking?

When using microwaves to heat frozen cobs, don‘t forget to check whether the corn is thaws properly before adding to recipe. If not, add it to soup or stew.
