If you don’t have a refrigerator, it’s not that big of a deal. But if you do have a refrigerator, you’ll want to store fruit in the crisper, where it’s less likely to go bad. While fruits like apples and bananas will last longer than other fruits, like grapes and pineapple, the shelf life of fruit actually varies depending on the fruit. So, when it comes to keeping fruit fresh, you want to buy fruit that’s best suited for your fridge.

Canned fruits

From our experimentation, we found that most fruit should be used within a week of opening. To do this, store them in the refrigerator, with the lid slightly ajar. Fresh fruits

I often find myself pulling out a few fresh fruits from the refrigerator and sticking them in a bowl before I’m ready to eat them. These fruits are often referred to as “Fresh” fruits, even though the majority of them have been sitting in the fridge for at least a few days. I don’t think that I’m alone in doing this, so I thought I’d try to find out exactly how long fruit last in the fridge.

Juices

Juices stay fresh for a long time in the refrigerator. Fruit juices like pomegranate and apple juices have a shelf life of around 2 weeks, while regular juices like orange, grape and kiwi juices last around 10 days. Frozen juices can last up to 6 months in the freezer.

Dried fruits

I have mentioned many times that fruits and vegetables should not be stored in the fridge. This is because the fridge slows down the breakdown of these nutrients. This also means that fruits and vegetables should not be stored in the fridge for more than a few days. For example, dried apples, bananas and applesauce will last for much longer than fresh fruit. So, if you have a few apples left over from a recipe, you should keep them in the fridge. But, if you have lots of apples, or some other fresh fruit, you should store it in the pantry or somewhere else where it will be safe from the cold.
