However, the ham will continue to cook for several days after the initial cooking, which will make the ham even more tender.

With a large ham, you need to allow for two or three days to bake it at its final temperature. You can also cook it at a lower temperature for a longer time to ensure it will cook evenly. This type of ham needs a specific time and temperature to complete the baking process, so the best way to prepare this ham is to set your oven to the desired temperature and cook for two days and two nights. When you remove the ham from the oven, you will need to allow it to cool for a few hours. During this time, the ham will contract and create a lot of steam, so it is important to let it sit for an hour or so before you slice it.
