Can you freeze eggs?
You can’t freeze any eggs, unless you are using them fresh. You cannot freeze whole eggs (egg yolk) either, since they are too large to be used in this way. However, there are many ways to freeze individual egg white or egg yoke portions. For example, freezing whole egg shells makes it easy to store and reuse those shells. If you want to make a batch of frozen eggwhite, simply place the eggshells inside a freezer bag and freeze until solid. Then you will have a single portion of eggy goodness ready to go. Another option is to break open the shell and scoop out the yelk. This is also possible, though it requires a bit more effort. Simply place a small amount of water in between the two halves of an egg and gently tap the outside of both halves together to dislodge the contents.
Do farm fresh eggs taste different?
As cheesy sounding as this may seem, chicken don‘t discriminate, nor do they care about the quality of their eggs, which is why they are often sold at the supermarket. They simply want to get the best price out of what they buy. This is especially true when it comes to farm raised eggs; they usually come from a local farmer who raises his own chickens. If you choose to buy store purchased eggs instead, you will pay more for them. But if there is a choice, I would recommend choosing farm grown eggs over store produced eggs whenever possible. Chicken eggs are much healthier than those from the grocery store, since they contain less cholesterol and saturated fat.
