Long story short, they are usually made by adding cocoa powder to the dough and then throwing it in the oven for a few minutes. I don’t really like the taste of the doughnut itself, but I love the look, especially when the doughnut’s almost baked and the cocoa powder is turning into a dark chocolate.

Doughnuts are a delicious treat, but they can be time consuming to make. You will need to make the doughnuts from scratch, making sure they’re prepared just right. You may not have the equipment to make the doughnuts or the skills to master the process, so we’ve found a great doughnut recipe on how to make homemade doughnuts.

the ingredients below will make 1 dozen doughnuts: mix the dry ingredients together. Make sure you measure all of the ingredients accurately. Wet ingredients, like oil or milk, are best added last, after everything else is combined. oil flour mix: 2 cups all-purpose flour 3 tablespoons sugar 2 teaspoons salt 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon soda mix together in a medium bowl. stir well. Add the oil and water. combine well to form a dough. Let the dough stand for 5 minutes. knead the dough for 3-4 minutes. Roll the dough out to about 1/8 inch thick. cut the doughnuts with a doughnut cutter (be sure to cut the doughnuts with your fingers first, so they will be round) place the doughnuts on a silpat or parchment paper on a baking sheet. cook in a preheated 450°F oven for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. serve warm.

Ingredients 1 cup buttermilk

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 teaspoon kosher salt

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 teaspoons instant yeast

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 tablespoon baking soda

1/4 cup turbinado sugar Instructions In a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, combine the buttermilk, flour, sugar, butter, salt, eggs, and vanilla.

Add the yeast and begin mixing the dough on medium speed.

When the dough is combined and starts to come together, add the oil and baking soda, and mix on low speed for another 3-5 minutes.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rest at room temperature for 2 hours.

Add the turbinado sugar to a large mixing bowl and roll the dough in it to coat it with sugar.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place the bowl in the refrigerator for 3 hours to let the dough proof.

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Lightly oil a bowl for each doughnut that’s going to be filled. Coat it with baking spray, then roll it in turbinado sugar.

Fill the doughnuts by hand, packing them tightly.

Place the doughnuts on a baking sheet and bake for 30-35
