For example, Seattle is considering a $15 minimum wage for businesses with more than $20 million in annual revenue. It’s worth noting that while the minimum wage has been raised over the years, it’s still lower than it was in the 1970’s. It’s also worth noting that these increases are making it harder for people who are on welfare to get work. Some people are even being forced to work in stores selling fast food. But there are many other causes of poverty besides minimum wages. It’s also worth noting that many people who are in poverty are not able to work because of mental or physical illness.
