What Are The Rules Of Holiday Pay?
Holiday pay is a term used to describe how a company pays its workers on specific days of the year. This typically includes days such as New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, and Presidents Day. Holidays are specific days that are set aside to be recognized by workers and employers. But, holiday pay is different than other pay because it’s usually given out on days off. It’s also typically not a part of your regular pay or paycheck. For example, your employer may give you extra time off and money on your day off, but it’s not part of your regular pay. Holiday pay is also different because it typically comes out of your paycheck, instead of being on your time sheet. You may not even be aware that you’re getting paid.
How Much Holiday Pay Do I Get?
Generally, holiday pay is 40 hours for your first year, and then additional holiday pay for each subsequent year. So, if you start working at Dollar General on July 1st, you would be paid $4 an hour for 40 hours of work. But there are other factors that can affect your holiday pay, such as if you work full-time, part-time or work a seasonal job. In addition, vacation days, comp time and paid holidays may apply.
