Cucumbers Are Low in Carbs
In terms of nutrition, cucumbers are one of the lowest in carbohydrates and sugar. However, these are not the only vegetables that contain carbs. This amount is small enough that you shouldn’t worry about adding them to your diet. But, you should consider eating cucumbers in place of a carb-heavy snack. Cucumbers are often eaten as a side dish and they’re often served with salad, but you can eat them on their own. They’re also an excellent source of potassium. Potassium is an important electrolyte found in the body, and research has found that potassium is linked to reduced blood pressure and lower risk of stroke.
