Do Hammer Curls Work Long Head?

A question that is asked about everyday by many people, often while doing some form of exercise.

Today I will show you how to apply a one inch to two inch curl to the long head of a hammer curl.

The entire routine will only take you two to four minutes.

A curl space is a place where you curl your body, called a curl. A curl space is where all the essential muscles are—these are your pecs, front, and traps. If you want to engage your whole upper body in a shoulder exercise, such as a hammer curl, your pecs will get the most stimulation. If you do a hammer curl with a light weight and only your pecs get involved, you’re performing a weighted curl. You’re using a full range of motion, but you’re only going through a very small range of motion. If you do a weighted curl, only your pecs get involved, but you’re going through a larger range of motion. So, you can perform a full range of motion curl, but you’re only going through a small range of motion. Density is the amount of muscle or muscle fibers in a given curl space. You’re more likely to be successful if you’re training in the heavier version of the curl.

A good way to help get the long head in place is to set the bar at a height that’s comfortable. Stand facing the bar with your back straight, and bend forward at the waist, keeping your head looking forward. Keep your chest pressed in towards your thighs, and pull your shoulders back, stopping when you feel a stretch. Don’t pull your shoulders forward, or your shoulders will be pushed back and your core will be off balance. Keep your elbows pointing slightly outwards, and don’t lock your elbows. Your shoulders should be lifted, not pulled back.

Some people get confused about the length of head when it comes to curl weights. This is an easy mistake to make because curl length is the length of the weight, which is only one part of the head.
