The types of cells that let cats feel pain are C, Aδ, and Aβ. The C and Aδ types of nerve cells allow cats to feel pain in their legs and tails. The Aβ type of nerve cells allow cats to feel pain in their faces, ears, and paws. That’s one of the reasons why you should always be gentle when petting a cat.
