How to Cook Rice and Chicken

To cook rice and chicken together, start by cooking the rice. Put the rice and chicken in separate pans and add water to cover the rice and chicken. Bring the rice and chicken to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until the rice is cooked. Next, take both pans off the stove and cover the chicken with its cooking liquid. Cover the pans and allow the chicken to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Once the chicken is cooked, take both pans off the stove and let them sit covered for an additional 5 to 10 minutes. Finally, remove the chicken from its cooking liquid and place it on a plate. Add the vegetables to the chicken cooking liquid and continue to cook over medium heat until the vegetables are tender. Serve the chicken and rice on a plate. You can serve this with more vegetables if desired.
