What’s in My Canned Tuna Fried Rice?

Don’t be fooled by tuna’s high mercury content. It’s still considered a very low risk source of omega-3 fatty acids. Here are a few more ways to use up your leftover tuna: grilled pizza sandwiches, a tuna salad sandwich, tuna as a protein for a salad, or even in a tuna casserole.

Making a Basic Sushi

Don’t forget to bring a knife and cutting board. First, you want to cut open the bag, and then cut open the can of tuna. In a small bowl, mix the white vinegar, sugar, and salt. Place the can of tuna in the bowl and pour the vinegar mixture. Let it sit for a few minutes, then drain the can. Rinse the tuna with cold water, then pat dry with paper towels. Roll the tuna lengthwise, then cut it into thin strips. Then cut the strips into smaller portions. Next, place the rice in a large bowl. You will add the ingredients, one by one. Mix the rice and water in the bowl until there are no more rice clumps. Add the mayonnaise, sesame oil, sugar, and shredded carrot. Mix until the rice is evenly coated.
