How To Cook Fresh Pumpkin

There is nothing like homemade food. Pumpkin is a versatile food, especially when it comes to baking. It also adds a great flavor to soups and pies. When you make your own pumpkin, you can control how much sugar is added, how much salt is added, and how creamy it is. This all adds up to making your own pumpkin one of the best things you can make. Pumpkin does add a little weight to baked goods. It also takes a little longer to cook than most other foods. It also shrinks quite a bit when it’s cooked. However, pumpkin is filling and doesn’t take up much space in the refrigerator.

Making Homemade Pumpkin Puree for Baby

You know how I love making baby food, I’ve shared my organic baby food recipes here on YouTube and I’ve also shared my pumpkin puree recipes in an earlier video. However, I know for many of you, making your own pumpkin puree can be very tedious and difficult. To make it more accessible to people, I’ve also found a way to make pumpkin puree at home using a few cans of pumpkin. To make this process easier, I’ve made a video detailing the steps below. Ingredients: Pumpkin (or butternut) Puree: 3 cans of pumpkin
Olive oil: 1 tbsp
Honey: 1 tbsp
Cinnamon: 1 tsp
Nutmeg: 1/2 tsp
Salt: 1 tsp
Parsley: 1/4 cup of fresh or dried
Step 1: Open the can of pumpkin and use a spoon to scoop out as much pumpkin puree as you can.
Step 2: Using a hand blender, mix the pumpkin puree with the olive oil, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and parsley.
Step 3: Refrigerate the pumpkin puree overnight.
Step 4: The next day, use a hand blender to puree the pumpkin puree again.
Step 5: Strain the pumpkin puree through a fine mesh strainer to make sure there are no bits of pumpkin remaining in the pumpkin puree.
Step 6: Transfer the pumpkin pure

What kind of canned pumpkin is good for baby?

When canning food for baby, make sure to use the regular pumpkin and not pumpkin pie filling. Pumpkin pie filling contains sugary flavors and has a high sugar content. Pumpkin pie filling is what most canned pumpkin is made from. But regular canned pumpkin is much healthier and is a great alternative. For baby’s first birthday, freeze a big batch of pumpkin puree and serve it later in the year as a treat. A great homemade treat you can make with pumpkin puree for baby’s first birthday is pumpkin bread. Bake the bread in muffin cups and fill them with pumpkin puree. If I don’t have pumpkin, should I use squash or carrots?

While I don’t know what to substitute pumpkin for, there are a few things to think about. First, it’s a fall ingredient. Fall is the season for warm, hearty foods such as soups, stews, and casseroles. Substitute pumpkin for squash if you can. Squash is great in most preparations that require pure pumpkin, so a change wouldn’t be as big of a deal. If you are using pumpkin in place of other vegetables, like carrots, you might want to make sure they are sturdy and don’t have any soft spots. You could also use water chestnuts or zucchini in place of pumpkin. Pumpkin is delicious, and it has a light, fluffy texture, so I hope you’ll give it a try.
