How To Make Sweet Mashed Potatoes

A friend asked me this question recently. Here’s the scoop. For a long time, I’ve been experimenting with mashed potatoes. I’ve never quite perfected them. But I’ve come up with a recipe that’s great tasting and a very healthy one. Here’s the recipe: For the potatoes: 1 pound of potatoes, cut into chunks (red potatoes are best) 1/2 cup of cream, heavy whipping cream I. Steam the potatoes in a pot or in the microwave. I prefer steaming my potatoes in a large pot that has a steamer insert. You can also use a microwave. 2. Once the potatoes have steamed for a bit, combine the potatoes with the cream. I just use my hands. 3. Add salt, freshly ground black pepper, and butter (a tablespoon or so, don’t go overboard) 4. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher. You can mash them with a fork, but it’s easier with a masher. 5. Serve as is. I use a bowl, a plate, and a fork. You’re done! Feel free to experiment with other ingredients and spices, such as garlic, freshly grated nutmeg, brown sugar, minced fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, basil, parsley, etc.), and mashed roasted garlic cloves. Yum! I’m very proud of this recipe. Enjoy!

How Much Do You Need?

Sure, you can. As long as you use the correct technique. Basically, you need the right type of potatoes, along with a heavy whipping cream. Heavy whipping cream has a fat content that is close to that of whole milk. In order to make mashed potatoes, you should buy potatoes that are close to a size of two medium potatoes. You’ll also need about four tablespoons of heavy whipping cream. Add the four tablespoons of heavy whipping cream to a blender. In a separate bowl, soak the potatoes in water. You should do this for about an hour. If you’re making mashed potatoes to go with your eggs, you don’t need to do this step. Once the potatoes are fully soaked, add them to the blender. Blend for about 10 seconds, then pour the mashed potatoes into a bowl. Use a hand mixer to beat the heavy whipping cream for about 10 minutes. When the potatoes are mashed, the cream will be whipped to an even consistency. If you’re not able to whip the cream to the consistency you want, you can use a hand mixer or stand mixer. Let the mashed potatoes cool completely before using them with your eggs.
