What is a Vegetarian?

Vegetarianism is a diet that is based on the abstention of meat and other animal products. Vegetarianism has roots dating back to ancient India, where people abstained from eating meat in order to get in contact with the divine. The origins of vegetarianism have since spread worldwide, and today there are several different kinds of vegetarianism. It’s even possible to be a vegan vegetarian. While there are many arguments against veganism, one of the main ones is the fact that it’s difficult to find meat substitutes that don’t taste bad. These are, for example, the negative effects that meat consumption can have on the environment. However, there are also many benefits to a vegan diet. One of them is the fact that it’s easier to be a vegan than a vegetarian. Vegetarianism means you have to read labels carefully, as it’s very difficult to find foods that are free of animal products. Veganism, on the other hand, is easier, as you can simply avoid meat.
