Bronchial asthma is the most common chronic disease of the airways. It is a disease with recurrent episodes of wheezing, chest tightness, breathlessness, and coughing, usually caused by respiratory viruses, allergic reactions, and environmental factors. It affects all ages, but is more common in school-aged children. Children with asthma need to be given the best possible treatment for this condition, and their symptoms can be controlled if they adhere to their medications. However, they may have chest pains when their asthma is particularly severe.
Treating Chest Pain
Chest pain can be a symptom of many diseases, which include heart problems, peptic ulcers and heart disease. Pain may occur in the chest area, in the upper or lower left area of the chest, and may also occur in the neck, jaw or upper back. An upper abdominal pain or pressure may also be present. When this happens, it can be difficult to identify the problem, and it’s important to see your doctor if the pain is severe or doesn’t go away. In general, it’s important to seek treatment immediately if you’re experiencing chest pain or pressure. Your doctor will perform a physical exam and other tests to determine the cause of the pain.
What are the Causes of Chest Pain?

What Do The Results Mean?
Gastro problems can cause chest pain, but they aren’t the only things that can. Chest pain may be caused by heart problems, respiratory problems or even cancer. Your doctor will likely ask questions such as how long the chest pain has been going on, whether it occurs with or without food or while you’re asleep or awake, and whether you’ve been feeling ill. They’ll also probably look for signs such as shortness of breath, fever, palpitations, or other symptoms such as a cough or fatigue. Your doctor may also take your blood pressure, heart rate, and blood tests. Your doctor may take x-rays or a CT scan to look for signs of problems in your heart, lungs, bones, or digestive system. If your doctor suspects that your chest pain may be caused by a problem in your stomach or intestines, they’ll order additional tests such as a gastroscopy or colonoscopy.
