A few years ago I introduced a sweet potato savory pie recipe that won the judges over. My pumpkin pie spice was so strong that it was too strong for me.
Good To Know About Pumpkin Spice
For pumpkin spice recipes, you can substitute spices and flavorings, but they need to have similar effects. This means that the spices should be about the same in size, shape, and color. For example, cinnamon can be substituted for pumpkin pie spice, but the size and shape of the spice need to be similar. If you want to substitute pumpkin for the pumpkin spice mix, you’ll need to use more sugar. So, to make a pumpkin pie, substitute spices for the same amount of sugar. You can also use herbs instead of spices. To make a coffee drink with a pumpkin flavor, you can add 1/4 cup of cinnamon and a few drops of cinnamon extract. The cinnamon extract is a liquid that has cinnamon in it. It is made by steeping cinnamon in alcohol. You can also use vanilla extract or add vanilla beans to the recipe. This makes your drink taste more like a pumpkin pie. To use this, add 2 vanilla beans to 1 1/2 cups of water and simmer for 3 minutes. Remove the vanilla beans and serve your drink. You can add a cup of milk, but try not to use butter or margarine. This is because they will alter the taste. Instead, add a cup of pumpkin puree or even 1/4 cup of pumpkin puree and 1/4 cup of brown sugar. You can also add the pumpkin puree to a pre-made pie crust. Be careful with these changes, because it can change the texture
What Can I Use instead of Pumpkin Spice?
While pumpkin pie spice is a flavor combination of spices used to make the holiday classic, it can be difficult to find many other holiday dishes that use the spices. And, while pumpkin is one of the few things that uses the spices, it’s not the only one. Other options that you might be able to use instead of pumpkin pie spice include: cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg. You might also be able to use apple pie spice or gingerbread spice. And, for those who are gluten-free, you can use gluten-free pie spice.
Spice or Not?
Pumpkin pie spice can be a tricky ingredient to work with, but it’s easy to make your own. Typically, it’s a mix of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, and sometimes ginger and nutmeg. But the spice mixture you choose can affect the final result. Some people even add a few drops of orange extract to enhance the flavor. Feel free to substitute your favorite mix for the spice blend.
