There is no such thing as fruit and cheese.
Unless you’ve got to travel to far flung places in your lifetime, you probably don’t have any travel bags of mixed dried fruits. Still, you don’t have to do without!
Here is a simple recipe for fruit compote that can be eaten as is, as a topping on yogurt, cake, or a gluten-free bread, or just saved for another day. It’s delicious in its simplicity and can be made with any kind of fruit.
[1] Ingredients:
1-2 apples
1-2 pears
1-2 bananas
4-5 tablespoons of lemon juice
4-5 tablespoons of sugar (if sweetened to taste)
Icing sugar
A few mint leaves

How Long Should You Cook It For?

In a medium size saucepan or pot, heat 2 tablespoons of the oil and place the apples and onions on top. Stir everything together and cook it over low heat for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the strawberries and cook it another 3 to 4 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium low and stir everything together. Cook for 2 more minutes. Turn off the heat and serve.
