Some of the most popular toppings are meat, pineapple, mushrooms, and onion. The sauce is typically based on tomatoes and oregano, but there are a variety of different sauces that you can choose from, including marinara, garlic butter, pesto, and spinach. The First Pizza Invention
The first pizza was invented by a man named Domenico Zampieri. Domenico lived in Naples, Italy in the year of 1443. He grew tired of cooking his meals at home, so one day he decided to experiment with making a flatbread. He found he could make a bread that could hold toppings, and it tasted good. This bread was very flat and thin, and it would take about an hour to cook. Because of this, it became a favorite food for anyone who worked at a manual labor job.

He would prepare a dough made from wheat flour, water and salt, and cook it in a brick oven. The bread was then divided into slices and topped with tomato, basil, salt, and cheese. This was how pizza was born. As people became more familiar with this new dish, they changed its ingredients to include mushrooms, onions, olives, and pepperoni. This is how pizza became the lunch and dinner favorite that it is today. Many people think that the first pizza restaurant was located in Naples, Italy in 1889. However, the real first pizza restaurant in Naples didn’t open until 1921.
