At Last year’s Holiday party, I decided to take my love of tacos and pizza and turn them into a new food mashup. But not just any pizza. My inspiration came from the fact that tacos are a really easy and fast meal that takes little more than a minute or two to make. They are also a great way to use left over meat and veggies that are leftover from the night before. So I decided that I wanted to create a pizza that was just as easy and fast to make as tacos. The result is this quick taco pizza recipe that I’m sharing with you today.
Pizza Inside a Taco
Pizza inside a taco sounds good to us and we wanted to see how we could make that happen! We then headed over to our local Ikea where we went to the bakery to make pizza inside a taco. Since it was almost lunch time, we decided to test the pizza out on some friends at a local restaurant. The first thing we did was roll the pizza dough through the window of our regular delivery pizza place. Then we made a pizza inside of a taco shell by using a corn tortilla shell. We topped our pizza with extra cheese and a pepperoni slice. Then we cut the pizza into a taco shape and placed it inside the taco shell. Once it was all ready we got our friends to try the pizza.
